Who I Am
full name: prosperina
nicknames: prosperina
god of: the seasons
sexuality: heterosexual
In The Mirror
i look a lot like: danneel harris
abilities:
this is me on a good day:
prosperina, compared to the other goddesses, is slightly taller than most. she has a slender, yet curvy body that is most coveted by her husband and those whose eyes fall upon her. her arms and legs are long and lean, and she walks with a graceful step which never falters. her eyes, the windows to her soul, are a deep brown. they are quite warm and some believe that to look into them is to find comfort in a troubled time. perhaps that is true to some. however, her eyes do not always contain that sweet, calming look. it is hard to believe that the kind, fair goddess that she is could be fiery, but alas, it is true. in her rare bursts of anger, her eyes no longer contain the softness that most see. they can become a thing to fear. a glower from her can cause the weak hearted to tremble where they stand. perhaps her hair color is a sign of the fire that is so carefully contained within her. it is a brown color with a reddish color mixed in it. her pride and joy, it is always in perfect condition. it has a slight natural wave to it and it is quite long, though not as long as to look gaudy. one hundred brushing strokes each night and morning keep it in tip top condition. as for her face, it is beautiful. with her has rosy cheeks and a complexion marred by no imperfections, it’s no wonder pluto fell in love with her. it’s a face that any mortal man would fall in love with in an instant. as for her clothing style, she prefers billowing dresses in bright colors that perfectly set off her tan complexion. some gold necklaces, bracelets, and rings usually complete her attire.

i hope to: be able to help everyone in need , to calm down my husband's nasty temper
i hide: i was scared of my husband at first , i play with cerebrus whenever my husband isn't looking
i'm weird because: i really love my hair , i'm interested in the affairs of the human race , i actually love that big three headed dog
what i'm like:
prosperina is widely known for her gentle and kind nature. she is never rude: always polite. when those whom despise her, which isn’t many, look to insult her or make her angry, she simply turns away and ignores them. she isn’t a woman of confrontations. she tries to avoid them at all costs and is constantly trying to calm her ever confrontational husband as he has a very nasty temper at times. she seeks to please as many as she can as she doesn’t enjoy letting others down. whether it be a small let down or a large one does not matter.
besides being gentle and caring, she is also quite compassionate. she can not stand to see a person or animal in pain, even if those in pain are those whom she loathes. she constantly seeks to help those in need and she always wishes that she had some sort of healing power. it had gotten to the point that she wanted to ask her father zeus to grant her her wish. but her mother, ceres, advised her against it. she could not help everyone in need, there were just too many people in the world. despite her mother’s negative outlook on her desire, prosperina still hurts inwardly and yearns to be able to reach out to everyone she passes that needs help.
in the days before her capture by pluto, prosperina was a prisoner under her mother’s constant watch. her mother tried to live vicariously through her and never let her wander far from her sight. prosperina did not resent her mother for this, but she did, however, yearn to be free from her mother’s grasp. when pluto captured her and took her away, despite the fear she felt at first, there was a part of her that was bursting with excitement at finally being liberated from her overprotective mother.
even though she is known for her kind personality and willingness to help, prosperina does have a fire encaged within her. although she willingly avoids confrontations at all costs, whenever some really just gets on her nerves, she will snap, much to their surprise. and boy, can she be a little fireball. it surprised pluto the first time he saw her temper, but it made him even more attracted to her. her temper usually only rises during the months she is away from her husband on earth with ceres, as she longs to be away from her mother’s grasp and back with her husband.
Where I'm From

significant other: pluto titus.
pets: none.

my story:
prosperina was the child of ceres, the goddess of grain, and jupiter, the god of the gods. growing up, she lived in the mortal realm and was constantly under the watchful eyes of her overprotective mother. for years, she yearned to be free, as her mother lived vicariously through her. however, she knew she could not leave her mother. it would hurt her more deeply than anything and despite her hate for her bondage, she loved her mother dearly. so, she continued living with her mother, running about in the fields of grain with her friends and picking wildflowers from the meadows.
unbeknownst to her, venus ordered cupid to hit pluto with a love arrow, which would make him, the god of the underworld, fall in love with her. so one day, as she was frolicking in the sunny meadows picking wildflowers, pluto burst out of the ground and within the blink of an eye, had pulled her onto his chariot. he swept her away to the realm of the dead, the underworld. he told her she was to be the queen of the underworld and be his bride. at first, prosperina was frightened. the darkness of the underworld depressed her and she wanted sunshine more than anything. the abruptness and suddenness of which everything had happened had her mind spinning, especially the marriage part. at first, she resisted. she didn’t eat or drink and she sulked around, depressed. she begged pluto to let her return to the mortal realm, to her mother. but pluto would not let her.
in the meantime, ceres was now frantically looking for her daughter. it had been so rare of her to let her daughter out of her sight and now she had paid the consequences. finally, after searching everywhere, she appealed to jupiter for help. he saw where prosperina was and he ordered pluto to give ceres her daughter back. pluto, however, refused his brother. he loved prosperina and he would not let her go. enraged and grieved, ceres refused to let the crops grow. the earth began to die and shrivel. jupiter, seeing he had to do something quickly, ordered his brother once more to give prosperina back to her mother. reluctantly, pluto agreed, but not before giving prosperina pomegranate seeds to eat. because she had eaten the food of the underworld, she was condemned to remain with him forever. seeing that neither side would let prosperina go, jupiter arranged a compromise. prosperina would spend half a year with her mother and half a year with pluto. the result of all of this were the seasons. ceres blessed the earth whenever prosperina was with her in the mortal realm, and she grieved whenever she returned to pluto.
in the time it took for her mother to find her, prosperina, despite her earlier refusal of his love, had begun to fall in love with pluto. before her mother found her, she had agreed to marry him and therefore had become the queen of the underworld. she grieves whenever she is away from him and on earth with her mother.
The Extra Stuff

valentine’s day. for people like mason bradford it meant love, as in the warm feeling you got when you were around that certain person. the way your heart started beating so fast and loud you were sure it was going to pop right out of your chest whenever that certain person smiled at you or brushed their hand against yours. there were a lot of things mason wasn’t sure of and one thing in particular he had been continuously battling in his head. it seemed like his own heart was waging war on him, tearing slowly down the middle into two separate parts. the ‘you love zooey in more than a friend way’ and the ‘you love zooey as a friend way’. the war had been waging for far too long and mason had been dying for it to end. every minute he spent with zooey reagan slowly but surely tore his heart, although he was sure she had no idea about his internal battle. but the night before last, one side of his heart had finally won the battle. the ‘you love zooey in more than a friend way’ had come out on top. and that was it. mason bradford loved zooey reagan. it seemed so simple now. he loved her. loved the girl he spent all his time with, the girl who made him laugh, the girl who supported him in every way. mason never in a million years had thought he would feel the feeling that grasped him now. ever since his revelation, he had been so elated, so euphoric. he loved zooey reagan! every time he thought of her face, he couldn’t help but smile and laugh giddily. and that had been two days ago. the world seemed so different to him now. somehow it was brighter, not that it had been dull to him before, but it just did. there was no way to describe it. and so that very night, he had decided he would confess to zooey his love for her on valentines day. zooey, right off the bat, he flirted with him, although he had been oblivious. it had taken nate seeing the pair to make mason see that. mason smiled at the thought of that day. he and zooey had been at mason’s house watching a movie when nate had barged in unexpectedly because he was bored and wanted something to do. so naturally mason had invited him to sit down and join them. at the end of the first movie, zooey had gotten up to go to the bathroom and nate had thrown a pillow right at mason’s head. you are truly blind my brother. he had said. she totally wants you. mason had just rolled his eyes. zooey didn’t see him like that, did she? after that little insight from nate, he had inconspicuously watched her and how she interacted with other boys and then with him. sure enough, she seemed to reserve her best smile for him and other things that he would never have noticed if he hadn’t been watching for them. at first he had been flattered. but then he had realized the dangers of it. what if he did decide to go out with zooey and then something happened to them? surely their strong friendship would fall to ruins. he had heard enough stories to know best friends who furthered their relationship and then broke up were never the same again. he couldn’t risk that with zooey. she was so much a part of his life that without her, he would surely crack. and so he had tried to make it clear to her that he had no interest in any relationships. it seemed she got the point, because from then on she hadn’t been as forward as she had been at first. she still reserved that special smile for him, though.
mason lifted a small, white jewelry box off of his dresser and opened it. a ring lay in it. a white gold band with two pink sapphires in the middle of two hearts. when he had finally decided he loved zooey, he had gone out to the jewelers and bought it for her, ignoring the price tag. zooey deserved the best and he had had a stash of money saved up. it had been for a vintage guitar he had been longing for, but he had decided the ring was a better cause. he fingered it gently before closing the box and gently placing it back on the shelf. tonight was going to be a magical night, he hoped. he had made reservations at a very nice restaurant downtown and planned to bring zooey back to his house for dessert and then present her with the ring, asking her to be his girlfriend. it would be very proposal like, but just not for a wedding. now all he had to do was call zooey up and ask her to dinner. he was just reaching for his phone when it started vibrating. zooey’s name appeared on the screen and a smile lit up his face. was love always like this? as soon as he read the text, his face fell and he plopped down onto his king sized bed. going to ed warner's party. just going to meet a few girl's there and probably head back home. uhm.. i know you're not into this whole party thing, but if you have nothing to do on singles awarness day then just meet me there. okay? (: ed warner’s party? yes, mason had heard about that, had even been invited by a few of his friends. but naturally, he had declined. ed warner and many of the people attending the party had a very different idea of valentine’s day. instead of love, it was making love. sex, drugs, and alcohol. yes, that was what that party would be full of. the mere thought of it was enough to make him sick. and zooey was going? it was possible she didn’t even know what she was getting into. mason deliberated texting her back and trying to dissuade her from going, and instead attending dinner with him. but if zooey really wanted to go, he didn’t want to ruin her plans. in his heart, he knew zooey would change her plans if he begged her. but he wouldn’t do that to her. better cancel the reservations. sighing, he threw a look at the box sitting on his dressed. “i guess i won’t be needing you tonight,” he said forlornly. wow. he was talking to jewelry. how pathetic. mason couldn’t help but feel a little bitter. stupid party. he shouldn’t have thought without a doubt that zooey would reserve her valentine’s day for him. he had made it clear he had no feelings for her and so why would they spend the day of love together? it would probably be bitter for her. stupid mason. why would anyone want to spend the day with a person they couldn’t have on valentines day?
mason had no desire to attend that party, but worry for zooey would probably eat him away the entire night if he didn’t go to make sure she was okay. obviously she didn’t expect him to show up. she knew how much he hated parties like that. so he could surprise her. confessing his love for her at ed’s party wouldn’t be romantic, partly because she probably wouldn’t be able to hear him. but maybe he could convince her to leave early and they could catch their dinner reservations. yes, that could work. with a renewed vigor, mason pushed himself out of bed and snatched his phone. ten minutes later, his dinner reservations had been pushed back an hour and was stepping into a nice, steaming shower. the hot water poured down his back as he shampooed his hair and rinsed it out. once he was down scrubbing his body, he turned the water off and stepped out, wrapping a blue towel around his lower half. the mirror was steamy and so he wiped it with his free hand before walking to his closet in search of his party attire. clearly, he wasn’t sure of what to wear. casual or somewhat dressy? he decided on a white button up shirt with a black jacket over it, with black pants on the bottom. when he got there, if he seemed to dressy, he could always take the jacket off. it was the perfect solution. after a quick blow dry and a spritz of his cologne, the one zooey loved so much, he was out the door. he could take his car, but he decided to take the bus and save some energy. he was sure zooey would drive her own car over there and if everything went as planned, they could leave together in her car. twenty minutes after he was seated on the bus, he was stepping out of it. blaring music reached him as soon as the bus door swung open. taking a deep breath, and telling himself to stay calm, mason proceeded down the walk towards ed warner’s house. in the front windows he could see drunk people staggering around and girls dancing, if that could even be called dancing, on guys. the door swung open just before he reached for the handle and a tall guy staggered out with a blonde following right behind him. he tripped off the steps and fell into the bushes, dragging the girl down with him, giggling hysterically. mason’s first instinct was to reach out and help them, but before he could, they started a very graphic makeout session. no, they didn’t need any help. disgusted, mason walked into the house. movement on his left first caught his attention. ed warner sat surrounded by girls, clearly drugged up and intoxicated. wincing, mason proceeded on through the house in search of zooey. on his right there was a large room, the dining room, which had been cleared of all furniture and was now being used as a dance floor. a flash of brown came from the corner of his eye and he snapped his around. false alarm. it wasn’t zooey, but another girl. he pushed his way through the dancefloor, where couples definitely needed to get a room because that was clearly not dancing. he was almost through the throng of bodies when he knocked into someone and a trickle of wet liquid trickled down his arm. “ ‘scuse me,” came a slurred voice that sounded awful familiar. horrified, mason turned around to see zooey, but it wasn’t his zooey. she was obviously drunk. it was a wonder she was on her feet. she was swaying. he stuck out his arm to steady her. “zooey?” he asked incredulously.
