I SEE MY VISION BURN
i feel my memories fade with time
pluto was well-known for many ill-mannered traits that made him less than pleasant to be around. he was selfish, had a wicked temper to him, and was not above using physical force to get what he wanted. he was a good looking god, no doubt, but there were very few, gods or mortals, who would choose to befriend him. for the most part, he had done his best to curb the nature of such traits around prosperina. he was much more careful around her than he had been with any other person, simply for the reason that she was his wife. he was trying for her sake. pluto had never tried, or cared, so hard to please one person in particular. hell, he had never tried to please anyone at all, save of himself.
however, the fact that prosperina refused to return to the underworld with him did nothing to ease his mindset. she was more than willing to choose her mother and mortals over her own husband! she had wandered across his land, only to tempt him with thoughts of being with her, then quickly snatching them back. frankly, pluto didn’t give a damn if all mortal life ended simply because of ceres’ anger. he and prosperina were immortal and as far as he was concerned, he could go on living without ever seeing another mortal. who needed them anyway? he expected that she would throw a fit for a while, but she would submit to him, just as she did in the beginning. that’s all it was – a repeat of past events. during her original capture, prosperina had argued for months before they both came to terms with each other. there was going to be no coming to terms this time – she was staying in the underworld with her husband, end of story.
pluto watched as the dark pit formed in the ground, holding onto prosperina’s waist with all his force as their chariot was led by the black steeds. being the god of the underworld did have its advantages. the chariot landed roughly against the stone ground, causing the two to be jolted slightly. pluto pushed prosperina away from him roughly, brushing past her. he could even remember being so rough with her but he was clearly on the brink of pure fury. all the time she had given him bullshit of loving him and now it seemed to be nothing more than a lie. he made sure the portal had sealed properly, waving his hand to send the horses away. cerebrus lifted one of his heads the arrival of pluto though noting his anger, simply went back to lounging as he had been before the arrival of the two gods.
he had been far forgiving towards prosperina and that was about to change. she had been his wife for years now and it was about time that she started acting like it. he had grown tired of giving in to her and it was time he regained his old self again. ”the portal’s sealed, don’t even bother trying to get out of it.” had she tried to get out of it, he would have known. he didn’t think prosperina would particular enjoy being thrown back some thirty feet by the rebound charm set on it. ”don’t bother with the river either – you’ll die before you even get half way to the door.” she may have been a god but swimming in a river of dead souls to escape was a terrible idea, one even pluto hadn’t tampered with. he took to pacing, glaring at her for a matter of minutes before he scowled in disgust. turning on his heel, he left her where she was standing and wandered to his deserted bed chambers.
the god was furious and he supposed all he needed was some time to think. no matter how much she argued or begged, she wasn’t going back to earth without his permission. for years he had been forced to live half of the year without her and he wasn’t going to take it much longer. ceres needed to grow up and realize that she wouldn’t live through her daughter. a heavy sigh was emitted, falling back onto the black sheets of the bed. sleep wasn’t going to come but he could at least pretend like he was attempting to relax. he expected that prosperina wasn’t going to be very quiet in the great hall. this was his realm, not hers, and he got what he wanted.
