my story:
Jupiter's father, Saturn was a tyrant. His grandfather was also a tyrant. When Jupiter had challenged Saturn and defeated him, thus freeing his siblings from the power-hungry god, he took his place as the ruler of olympus. The chances of him being a tyrant were pretty high as well, but fortunately for everyone, he wasn't. He's a much more laidback and eccentric ruler that believed that people should be able to have some fun in their lives and that they didn't need to answer to him all the time. His first few centuries as ruler of the gods passed without incident. He was relatively happy and liked his role and responsibilities.
However, this enthusiasm faded a bit and he became much more jaded as time passed and he saw the corruption of humans in the world. His blessings were taken for granted and if anything went wrong with their lives he was the one they ultimately blamed for he was responsible for the gods who were responsible for causing their hardships. He still dealt with their issues but with a weariness that had not been there before.
As the years flew by, Jupiter had taken to wandering the mortal realm to actually see how the mortals he ruled over lived. What was seen as an innocent and well meaning excursion ended up a disaster and the beginning of a new trend. Before he ventured into the mortal realm, he had been content with Juno as his wife and lover, but when he realized what other beautiful women were in the world, he couldn't help but be tempted. But he didn't immediately take a lover like others claimed he did.
It was only after a particularly bad argument - for the couple had been bickering quite frequently lately - did the ruler of the skies and thunder descended into the mortal realm for a stress-relieving walk. He met a woman and they became lovers. Although no child was conceived, he did move on and illegitimate demi-gods and gods were born. That was when Juno became malicious and jealous. She sought out his lovers and punished them cruelly. He tried to protect them as best he could, but Juno was much too manipulative and thwarted all his attempts. Even though there was the threat of a malevolent wife who would punish whomever dared to be his lover, there were still many women willing to fulfill the role of his lover. It frustrated Juno to no end and it was then that their arguments became more and more volatile. So volatile that it seemed like the skies shook and threatened to fall with their excessive quarreling.
It only got worse when he began to welcome his children into olympus. Juno thought that it was a way to spite her and she was not welcoming or kind at the very least. It did not matter since he had long realized that the strife between himself and Juno would never be fixed. It was better to lavish his affections on his receptive children than his bitter and jealous wife. Since his decision to leave his broken relationship be, he's taking more and more lovers and his longing for separation grows with each passing day.

In the dark shadows of a nearby building, Alessandro was finishing off his woman of the week. Her once beautiful amethyst-hued eyes dulled to a faded to a dreary plum. Her ruby red lips had opened in a silent cry of pain and shock. Alessandro smiled stonily at the limp woman in his arms. Her name was Rafaela and she had thought that she had meant something to him. Just like all the women before her and the women after her as well. She was alive, but barely. "Don't give me that accusing glare, love." Alessandro purred as he bent down to nuzzle the deep puncture wounds on her smooth tanned skin. "I treated you like a princess for the past week, don't tell me you didn't enjoy it. I'll always treasure our brief affair." If Rafaela had any comeback or sharp retort like she usually did, she didn't have the strength to utter it. Alessandro could feel her slip into death's cool embrace. Leaning down to kiss her ruby red lips one last time, Alessandro let go of her limp corpse. Her prone form landed on the dirty ground with a dull thud. Her left arm landed in an awkward angle and he was sure that if she hadn't already died, she would be howling in pain. Slowly, he surveyed his handiwork before plucking the strand of black pearls that was around her long neck. It had been a gift from him to her. What she didn't know was that these pearls had been on the neck of every woman he had for the past six centuries. They were drenched in innocent blood for they were always on his woman when he finally made her his meal.
"Ciao, beautiful. It's been a fun week." He saluted the limp corpse before re-entering the open streets. It was a rather strange quirk he had. He preferred to lead some semblance of a normal life. He only needed to eat once a week and because of the large timeframe left to him, he loved to pick his next meal with scrutiny and care. After all, if he was only going to eat once every seven to nine days, he should have the best. But that wasn't enough for him. He wanted to play around with his food a little first. He picked the most beautiful woman in the vicinity - it didn't matter if they were married or not, they always succumbed to him in the end - and made her his princess for a week. And then, it was over.
Alessandro gripped the pearls firmly, feeling the slick layer of blood that had gotten onto the pearls. Now that Rafaela was finished, he'll have to find his next woman. However, it was just the wrong time. It was late and the streets of Venice were practically devoid of humans. A woman must either be a streetwalker or a really foolish wench to wander alone at nights like this. He might as well head back to the Doge's Palace. It wasn't like a woman would appear out of - hold on. A pair of light footsteps could be heard not far from where he was. And from the smell, the human was a she.
He'll wait and see. If she was beautiful, she may possibly be his next meal, and if not, he'll let her be. Kneeling close to the edge of the pathway, he peered into the water. He needed to make sure that there was no evidence or clues that would alert the approaching human of what he was. Although the water was dirty, it provided a good replacement for a mirror. He had made sure that he hadn't gotten any blood on himself, it was always good to make sure. After a few moments, he nodded in approval. But then, he noticed the strands of bloodied black pearls in his hand. He can't risk washing those precious pearls in such dirty water, yet he can't let them be seen. Hurriedly, he stuck them into his pocket and dipped his own bloody hand into the waters and scrubbed quickly. He pulled out a hankerchief and dried his hand off. And just in time too.
As soon as he got up and turned around, the human rounded the corner and came into view. With his enhanced eyesight, he could make out her facial features with no difficulty. She was beautiful, Alessandro noted with approval. She'll definitely do. Stepping forward, Alessandro waited for her to approach him. He was rather curious. Why was she out here so late at night?
