heaven forbid !
well aware of your sins
well aware of your sins
dear future student,
here at st-michel’s high school, our goal is to help you through your life, to make you understand what may await you in the adult world. oh, we do understand that you have already been through so many difficulties before this letter was sent to you. i, your headmistress, miss t, understand personally what you feel like and how lost you may be. that is why i am honored to welcome you in our brand new program, here, in the small town of big valley, central alberta. st-michel’s is not only an high school, but also a rehabilitation center for young men and women lost just like you, who have also been through difficulties. teenagers everywhere from north america were invited here to enter our special program to help them get out of this vicious circle of always feeling guilty for things i’m sure yourself and other’s didn’t mean to do.
to this letter, you will find some important documents attached, such as a letter from our president of the welcoming commitee who is also one of the proofs that our program works and was already tested on other students before you. to this letter is also attached a plan of our school and it’s grounds so you don’t get lost and miss the beginning of some of your classes. there is also, on this plan, a red x that marks where your future dormitory will be.
with hope that you accept this invitation,
your headmistress, miss t.

hey, whoever you are,
i still don’t understand why exactly the headmistress asked me to write this for you all, out there. but i’m kind of glad she did. if you want to know the truth, don’t believe a word she said and trust me. i have been through this stupid program because my parents forced me. this is not what you think it is, at all. this is not a normal rehabilitation center. i don’t even know what exactly is happening here yet. but what i do know is that the staff doesn’t really care about us. we all know why we’re here. because we have something to hide from the world.. a secret. some are bigger than others. but we all have one. if, by any chance, you do end up accepting this invitation –you must be very stupid, by the way- never, ever, reveal your secret to anybody, whatever it is. i saw somebody whispering in another person’s ear one day. the next day.. they weren’t here anymore. you have luck. i was one of the first to enter st-michel’s school. even the juniors nor the sophomores didn’t have anybody to warn them of what might happen if they told their secrets to anybody. now, plenty of us have disappeared. it’s simple. very simple. don’t tell your secret. ever.
with hope that you don’t accept this invitation,
president of welcoming commitee, jaedyn maya covington.
do you understand what is happening at st-michel’s high school? i hope you do, because i am not sure i really do. people are disappearing. will you be one of them? if i were you, i’d stay out of it all. i’m not sure i really want to disappear anytime soon. be careful. watch your back. don’t trust anybody. that really is your only chance. do everything you can to survive, to hide your secret until the last moment. tell them what they want to hear, and maybe then, but only then, you’ll have a chance to get out of this whole mess.
