Jupiter was not a coward. No. He definitely wasn't. He was the all mighty ruler of gods. He was the king of all kings. He was the rule of the skies and thunder. He struck fear even into his fellow gods' hearts. He commanded respect and obedience from everyone and anyone. He was brave and faced his foes with relentless determination and he was not a coward! He was also not running away from his angry wife.
No, not he. He was a man after all, his wife should be running away from him and recoiling from his anger. He was just...taking a break. A breather, a little stroll to clear his mind. After all, ruling took its toll on any god. The fact that Juno was mad at him for calling her the wrong name and consequently thrown several bolts of lightning at him meant nothing. Damned woman, just who does she think she is anyways? What happened to the respect and obedience I once had? He sighed with exasperation and looked up into the skies hopefully. The clouds always showed what kind of mood Juno was in.
They were thunderous and stormy grey. By the looks of it, he was definitely not welcomed back home for quite some time. Lately, Juno had been getting more and more temperamental and emotional. Just last week she had broken down into a crying blubbering mass just because he had forgotten her birthday. How was he supposed to know it was her birthday anyways? He was busy working! She should be working as well! Women. Jupiter growled out, and continued to pace in agitation. If she was feeling especially spiteful, she'll probably throw a bolt of lightning at him right now. Not that it would kill him anyways, but it was the thought that counts after all. It was irrational and odd. Juno's moods seemed to be getting even more unpredictable...and violent. Jupiter winced and almost tripped as a thought entered his mind. Holy sweet Pluto. Juno's pregnant? He cried out incredulously. A threatening rumble from above told him, no. After all, he hadn't touched her in quite some time - but then again, she had conceived Mars all on her own anyways. It was definitely something to look into.
But now he had a more pressing problem at hand. Where was he going to go stay until his wife calmed down. Hopefully his daughters Venus and Minerva would calm Juno down soon enough. His wife may or may not be pregnant, but he had at least a few weeks to ponder that. He wasn't worried if the child wasn't his. Juno wasn't the cheating type - unlike himself. He winced guiltily at the thought. He did feel bad about that, occasionally, but Juno was just so hard to get along with nowadays, it was much easier to coerce a welcoming and friendly mortal woman into his bed. However, he couldn't possibly go around consorting with mortal woman just for room and board. Juno would be even angrier and he'll never be able to return home! No, he'll have to stay with a relative. He could stay with his brothers! He frowned, it seemed like nothing was going his way. Neptune's place wasn't all that comfortable and it smelled like fish. Pluto...well, he just wasn't a very hospitable host. And he couldn't look Pluto in the face when his brother would most likely be taunting and teasing him. He'll definitely find it hilarious that the all mighty Jupiter was kicked out of his home. Jupiter sighed dejectedly, why him?
